Wednesday, March 28, 12:45 – 3:30pm
After our successful New Media Forum on “Effective Social Media for Parishes and Ministries”, many participants told us that while there was a lot of good information, they would like more in-depth training on how to actually create Facebook, Twitter, and Google+ pages for their parishes.
On Wednesday, March 28, we will offer a hands-on workshop in our computer training classroom at the Archdiocesan Pastoral Center. Up to 24 participants will walk through the actual steps of creating social media pages and create content for those sites. They will also leave with knowledge of tools, tips, techniques, and best practices for maintaining them.
If your parish already has social media pages, you can still benefit! On March 30, Facebook will introduce major changes to Pages, including your parish’s pages. We’ll show you how to prepare for this change.
If you have your own laptop computer, you’re welcome to bring it, but you are also welcome to use the computers in our classroom as well. You just need to bring the username and password for your personal Facebook and/or Google/Gmail account, if you have one already. If you do not yet have an account, we’ll create one together as a first step.
The workshop will be lead by Domenico Bettinelli, Jr., Creative Director for Pilot New Media, and the Pilot New Media team.
Mass in the Bethany Chapel is at noon. The Pastoral Center Cafeteria will be available for lunch prior to the Forum. There is no cost or obligation for attending the New Media Forum.
The session will take place at the Archdiocesan Pastoral Center, 66 Brooks Drive, Braintree.
